About Devon Chamber of Commerce
Devon Chamber of Commerce is an accredited member of the British Chambers of Commerce network. Representing over 40,000 employees in the county, Devon Chamber connects businesses to enable growth and success in the region. Working in partnership with local authorities, strategic organisations and British Chambers of Commerce, Devon Chamber of Commerce works to improve business conditions in the county.
With members from across the business community we think it’s really important for us to understand our members’ needs, so that we are able to offer a route to influence key policy and decision makers. We’re passionate about making Devon a great place to do business and use our local, regional and national relationships with government and institutions to lobby for changes in policy to improve conditions for our members.
We work with all levels of local and regional government, from officers working directly on projects to those who influence local decision making and strategic groups such as the Heart of the SW LEP. We engage with strategic groups such as the LEP to ensure that we have an effect on their plans to ensure that they are of benefit to the local business environment and work towards our goal of improving Devon as a place to do business.
Nationally, we have access to the Government through our relationship with British Chambers of Commerce, enabling us to add weight to our local and regional lobbying activity. We address key issues impacting on business growth and development for our region. Our members’ opinions are important to us, and we urge them all to work with us to shape the agenda for our lobbying activities.
