The Chamber is one of a number of business support and enterprise agencies based in the county. As an inclusive, strengthening business voice in the region, we endeavour to signpost you to a  wide range of additional services, whether you’re a start-up business or looking to grow. 

The Growth Hub

The Growth Hub provides signposting to support on a range of topics including:

 Competitions/Awards, conference and meeting rooms, exporting and International Trade, facilities and expertise, funding and grants,  business growth and development, investment and finance, IT and e-commerce, marketing, mentoring and coaching networks, office accomodation, personal development/training, recruitment for development, start up support, tender and sourcing opportunities, social enterprise and intellectual property.

Heart of the South West LEP
We partner the Heart of the South West Local Economic Partnership (HotSW LEP) on a number of projects and initiatives that are of benefit to businesses in the region.

The LEP's purpose is to lead and influence economic growth, job creation and prosperity across the Heart of the South West.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are designed by the Sector Skills Councils, while the National Apprenticeship Service helps to fund the training. Business representatives from the relevant industry sector work with the Sector Skills Councils to develop the course content ensuring training is relevant to its industry.

City College Plymouth

City College Plymouth is a leading provider of training and business services with a dedicated employer response team that advises on training, qualifications and funding for businesses. It offers a wide range of general business and management training as well as bespoke training designed to meet exact needs. It can also help businesses recruit, train and qualify apprentices.

University of St Mark and St John

The University of St Mark and St John works closely with businesses and offers a range of services to employers including:

  • HE-level flexible training for those already in employment

  • Continuing professional development

  • Short and industry-related courses from levels 1 to 7

  • Employer advisory groups for course content

  • Student placement projects

  • Applied research and knowledge transfer partnerships
